Nishank Store

If you ever find yourself at the Sector-Q Churaha in Aliganj, you will probably see Nishank Store. We are right there at Shop No-D 78. It’s a lively corner and there is always something happening outside. We’ve been serving this part of Lucknow for a while now, and it’s been interesting to see how the area has changed. We carry a variety of items, mostly the stuff people realize they’ve run out of at the last minute. Things like milk, eggs, or maybe some spices for the evening meal. The shop isn't very big, so we have to be smart about how we use the space. We have shelves all the way to the ceiling. Sometimes we have to use a small ladder to reach the stuff at the top, which can be a bit slow if we are in a hurry. The morning hours are usually the busiest because of the breakfast rush. We try to be quick with the change and the bagging so people aren’t waiting too long. It’s just me and a helper most days. We talk to the regulars about local news or what’s happening at the crossroads. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to manage with a torch, but we don’t close up. We just keep going until the work is done. It’s a simple business, really. We just want to make sure the people in Sector-Q have a place nearby to get their essentials. No fancy lights or big signs, just a regular shop for regular needs.
