Neeraj Store

You can find us at 366/277 on Mata Deen Road, which is right in the Saadatganj area of Lucknow. It is a neighborhood where everyone knows everyone else. The store is tucked away and we mostly serve the families who live on this road or just around the corner. We keep the daily essentials like cooking oil, spices, and bath soaps. The shop window is small and sometimes gets a bit cluttered with posters from the distributors. I spend my afternoons sitting on the wooden stool, waiting for the sun to go down so it gets a little cooler. We use a simple ceiling fan that makes a bit of a clicking sound, but it works fine. Lucknow has a certain way of being slow and we do not try to rush things here. We have a couple of chairs outside for people who want to rest for a minute after carrying heavy bags home. The ledger is kept on the main desk and we write down everything by hand. It is not a modern supermarket with bright lights; it is just a corner store where the floor is a bit uneven and the shelves are crowded. We try to keep the most popular items within reach so people can get in and out quickly. It is just how we run things, keeping it simple and honest for the people on Mata Deen Road.
