Mohd Asif Kirana Store

Our place, Mohd Asif Kirana Store, is over on Victoria Street in the Tal Katora area of Lucknow. This part of the city always has something going on. We handle the usual kirana items, the kind of things you need for cooking and cleaning at home. We’ve got bags of rice, pulses, and all those small spices that finish up right when you’re in the middle of making dinner. The shop isn't huge, but we pack a lot into the space we have. Sometimes it feels a bit cluttered with all the new stock coming in, but we know where everything is kept. People from the neighborhood come in throughout the day. Some just want a single pack of matches, while others are buying for the whole week. We don't have fancy displays or bright neon signs. It’s just a regular store with a counter and shelves. Victoria Street can get pretty loud with the rickshaws and bikes going past, but inside, we just focus on the customers. We’ve been in this spot for a good while. You get used to the rhythm of the street and the people. We try to make sure we don’t run out of the basics. If someone needs something specific and we don't have it, we try to get it for next time. It’s just a local shop for local people. There is no big secret to how we work, we just stay open and wait for folks to stop by.
