Mohammad Irfan General Store

I open the store early every morning here in Balaganj. It is usually quiet at first but then the traffic picks up. Lucknow gets quite hot in the summers so I try to get the heavy lifting done before the sun is too high. The shop has been in this spot for a while now. Most people around here know where Mohammad Irfan General Store is. We mostly just keep the basic things people need for their houses. It is a lot of work keeping everything organized on the shelves. Sometimes the boxes arrive and they are a mess. I spend a lot of time counting things and making sure nothing is expired. My back hurts sometimes from standing all day. Customers come in for a single thing like a matchbox or a bag of flour. We talk about the weather or the local news while I pack their stuff. Balaganj is a busy place and there is always noise from the street. I keep a fan running behind the counter but it mostly just moves the warm air around. In the evenings it gets crowded with people coming home from work. It is just me and the items on the walls. I don't have a big team or anything like that. It is just a simple shop. Sometimes I forget where I put the smaller items. I have to look around for a minute. That is just how it goes when you have so many little things.
