Mlk Fashions is located at No. 331/3 in Chaupri Tola Chowk. If you know the Chowk area, you know it’s the heart of the market. There is always something happening right outside our door. We are in a small spot, but it’s right where people walk by every day to get their groceries or run errands. Chaupri Tola is a place where everyone knows everyone. We spend a lot of our time just sitting on the stools at the front of the shop when it’s quiet, watching the world go by. When it’s busy, it’s a different story. We are constantly moving things around to make space. The shop isn't fancy at all. We have simple shelves and a few lights, but it works for what we do. We don’t have a big marketing plan or anything like that. We just rely on the fact that we are in a good spot and we treat people fairly when they come in. Most of our days are spent talking to customers or the other shopkeepers nearby. We often share tea and talk about how the business is going. It’s a very traditional way of running a shop, I suppose. We don’t use any complicated technology, just a notebook and our own memory. Mlk Fashions is just a part of the daily life here in the Chowk, and we are happy to keep it that way.
