Maurya General Store

We are located at Vidya Palace on Kursi Road, which is in the Aliganj area of Lucknow. The shop is Shop No.2. It’s right near the old Purani Chungi and the Hanuman Mandir Dwar. Because of the temple, we get a lot of people passing by on Tuesdays and Saturdays. We sell all kinds of general items. Whether it’s something for the house like washing powder or just a quick snack, we usually have it on the shelves. The Kursi Road area has changed a lot over the years, getting much busier with more cars and people. Our shop is small, but we try to keep it stocked with the things people ask for the most. Sometimes the delivery truck gets stuck in the city traffic, so we might run out of something for a day, but that’s just how it is here. I’ve been running this place for a while now. It’s a simple setup. No fancy displays or computer systems. I just write everything down in my ledger book at the end of the day. It’s a bit old-fashioned, I know, but it works for me and the customers. People from the nearby apartments come here because it’s convenient. We have a bit of a chat, they get their groceries, and that’s that. It’s a steady life. We open up in the morning before the sun gets too high and stay until the evening.
