Lucknow Chikan Udyog

We are set up in the Aarohi Trade Center, specifically at U.G.F. 18, right in the Chowk area. If you’ve been to Chowk, you know how crowded and lively it gets. Our shop is on the upper ground floor, which helps a bit with the street noise, but you can still hear the buzz of the market. We deal with chikan work, which is what this part of the world is known for. The shop is filled with different fabrics and garments piled on the counters. It’s a small space, so we have to be careful about where we put things. Most of the people who work here have been doing this for a long time and they can tell you about the different stitches without thinking about it. We don't really do much in the way of advertising. Most of our customers are people who are already shopping in the trade center or regulars who have been coming to us for years. It can get pretty hot in the afternoons, but we have a couple of fans that keep things moving. We spend a lot of time sorting through stock and making sure everything is folded right. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s our trade and we’ve been at it for a long while now. We just open up and wait to see who the day brings in. It's a simple routine, checking the new arrivals and making sure the shop looks decent for the customers.
