If you head down toward Abrar Nagar in Kalyanpur, you’ll find Lucknow Auto. We are tucked away near the Mian Road, which makes it easy for folks to pull in when they’re having trouble with their vehicles. The shop isn’t huge, but we make the most of the space we have. Most mornings start with a cup of tea while we look at what needs fixing first. It’s a lot of grease and hands-on work here. We don’t have those polished floors you see in the big city showrooms. Here, the floor is concrete and usually has a few oil spots. We’ve known the neighbors for years, and most people around Kalyanpur just walk over if they need something. The noise from the main road is always in the background, but it’s a sound we’ve grown to like. It means people are moving. Sometimes the parts take a day or two to arrive, and we have to tell people to be patient, which they usually are. We aren’t big on talking ourselves up. We just handle the repairs and try to keep the cars running for the local families. My brother handles the books, and I mostly stay under the hoods of the cars. It’s a simple life, and the work is steady. We’ve been at this spot for a long time and don't plan on moving anywhere else.
