Down here at 26-A in Sarojni Nagar, things stay pretty busy for us at Jeevan Foam Pvt. Ltd. If you walk into our place, the first thing you notice is the smell of the materials and the fact that foam blocks take up almost every inch of space we have. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes. We spend most of the day cutting pieces to size or loading up the back of a truck that’s usually parked half on the curb. Sarojni Nagar is a crowded spot, so there is always noise from the street coming through the open doors. We don't really have a front desk person; usually, someone just shouts from the back if they hear the bell ring. The walls are a bit dusty and the fans just move the hot air around, but we get the work done. Most of us have been working together for years, so we don't need to say much to know what needs to happen next. We drink a lot of water and try to stay out of the direct sun when we can. It’s just a regular factory floor where we deal with foam all day long. There aren't any glossy brochures or fancy signs, just a lot of hard work and people trying to make sure the dimensions are right before anything leaves the building. It’s a simple way to spend a workday.
