Maurya Automotive

Maurya Automotive is situated in Rajaji Puram, right on the Main Kanpur Road. We are near the Union Bank of India, which most locals use as a landmark. The road out front is one of the main veins of the city, so it’s never really quiet. We’ve got a decent-sized space here where we take in cars for all sorts of repairs. The walls are painted a dull white that has turned a bit yellow over the years from the exhaust fumes. We have a few old calendars hanging up and a shelf full of spare oil cans. It’s a straightforward garage. We spend our mornings checking over engines and the afternoons usually involve more heavy lifting, like pulling out a transmission. The heat in Rajaji Puram can be quite something in the summer, so we usually have a couple of big pedestal fans blowing to keep the air moving. We aren’t much for talking; we mostly just get on with the repairs. Some people stop in just to ask for directions because of where we are located on Kanpur Road. We don’t mind. It’s a community here, even with all the traffic. The floor is concrete and cold in the winter, but it’s easy to sweep up the metal shavings. We just provide a place for people to get their vehicles looked at without any fuss. It’s a regular shop for regular folks. We like it that way.
