Lalit Kirana Store

Lalit Kirana Store is over in Indira Nagar in Lucknow, right across from the HAL area. It’s a good spot because there are always people moving around, going to work or coming back home. I’ve been here for a while now, and the shop has seen a lot of things change in the neighborhood. We sell the usual kirana items like rice, dals, and spices. I try to keep the quality good because I live here too and I wouldn't want to sell something I wouldn't use myself. The shop isn't very big, so we have to keep everything very tight. Sometimes the bags of flour are stacked so high I worry they might tip over, but we manage. I don't have a big sign or bright lights. Most people just know me as the shop near the HAL gate. It’s a lot of heavy lifting, moving sacks of grain around and stocking the shelves late at night. My back hurts a bit more than it used to, but it’s honest work. I like the sound of the city in the evening when the traffic picks up. Customers come in and tell me about their families while I weigh out their sugar or lentils. It feels more like a community than just a business. We don't have any fancy mission statements or things like that. We just sell what people need and try to be fair with the prices every day.
