Lalit General Store

Lalit General Store is tucked away in Dandiya Bazaar over in Lucknow. We are pretty close to the Hevat Polytechnic, so there are always students walking back and forth with their bags and books. This part of Lucknow, the 226022 area, is usually busy with people looking for one thing or another. Our shop is just a basic place. We have been sitting here behind the counter for years, watching the crowd in Dandiya Bazar go by. The shop has a lot of shelves that reach quite high, and we use a small stool to get to the things on top. It’s not a polished place with shiny floors. The floor is just old stone that has seen better days, and the walls have a few marks here and there. We keep all the usual items that folks in the neighborhood need for their homes. When the Polytechnic is open, it gets louder around here, which we don't mind. It feels good to have some energy on the street. We usually keep the doors open all day to let the air in, even when it’s dusty. Life moves at its own pace here. We know most of the people who live nearby and they know where to find us if they need anything. It’s a simple life, just running the store and making sure we stay stocked up for whoever might walk through the door next.
