Modern Furniture And Decor is situated in the Super Shopping Center at Sanjay Gandhi Puram. We are pretty close to the Kukrail Bridge and right across from the V Mart on Faizabad Road. Because of the location, there is always a lot of traffic and people walking by. Our shop is full of different sofas, dining tables, and beds. It gets a bit cramped because we try to display as much as we can on the floor. Moving the heavy wooden pieces around is a lot of work, and we are usually rearranging things to make more space. The dust from Faizabad Road is a constant battle, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the glass tops and the wooden frames. People often stop by after they finish their shopping at V Mart just to look around. We don’t have a big sales team, just a couple of us who know about the wood and the fabric used in the furniture. Sometimes we sit on the display sofas when the shop is empty in the afternoon. We get a lot of local families coming in who are moving into new houses nearby. It is a loud area with all the horns honking outside, but once you step inside, it is a bit quieter. We try to keep a variety of styles so there is something for everyone who walks through the door. It’s a lot of manual labor, but seeing a set of furniture leave for a new home is a good feeling.
