Imran Store

You can find Imran Store on Spot Road in Khurram Nagar. Being here in Lucknow, things can get pretty hot in the summer months. Our shop is just a basic general store where we keep the usual supplies that families around here need every day. The road outside is often under repair or just dusty, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the jars and counters. It is not a glamorous job, but it is what we do. We open up early and stay open until quite late in the evening. Most of our customers are neighbors who have been living in Khurram Nagar for decades. They come in for a bit of sugar or maybe some tea leaves and stay to talk about the weather or the local news. We don't have a fancy computer system to track everything. We just look at the shelves and see what is running low. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to sit in the dark for a while, waiting for the power to come back. It gives us a chance to sit on the stool and rest our legs. We don't try to be anything we are not. This is just a place to buy your daily goods without any fuss. It’s a simple shop for simple people, and we are fine with that.
