Gupta General Store

Gupta General Store is located in Shop No.-C-5 in the Lda Market at Vivek Khand-2. It’s a nice spot in Gomti Nagar, especially since we are so near Neelkanth Sweet. You can often smell the food from over there when the wind blows the right way. Running a shop in Lucknow means dealing with a lot of people who like to chat while they shop. I started this place because I wanted something of my own, and it has been a lot of work keeping up with all the different brands people want these days. The shelves are a bit high, so I’m always climbing a small stool to reach the stuff at the top. Sometimes the light in the back of the store flickers, and I keep meaning to get the electrician to fix it, but there’s always something more urgent to do. It’s mostly just me and a helper kid who comes in after his classes. We get the morning crowd looking for bread and eggs, and then it goes quiet until the evening when the offices let out. It’s not a polished supermarket, just a local store where the floor is a bit worn down from years of feet walking in and out. We try our best to keep things tidy, though it’s hard with so many small packets. You just get used to the clutter after a while, I suppose.
