Gopal Varshney

My place is over at House Number 102 in Aliganj. It’s on the third floor, so you have to walk up a bit to get here. I’ve been in this part of Lucknow for years and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Gopal Varshney is the name on the door, but most people just call me Gopal. It’s a simple setup I have here. I don’t believe in having a lot of bells and whistles that just get in the way of real work. I spend most of my time right here at my desk. The view from the window isn't much, just the street and some trees, but it’s home. I handle things as they come. There's no big strategy or corporate ladder here. It’s just honest work. Sometimes the neighbors pop in for a chat, and I don't mind that one bit. It keeps things interesting. Lucknow is a big city, but Aliganj feels like its own little world sometimes. I’ve seen businesses come and go, but I’ve managed to stay put. I don't bother with those glossy advertisements you see everywhere. If I do a good job, people find out. That’s how I’ve always operated. It might be an old-fashioned way of doing things, but it suits me just fine. I’m usually here from morning until the sun goes down, just getting through the day's tasks.
