Gopal General Store

We are located on Panna Lal Road in the Daliganj area of Lucknow. The shop is quite close to the Bank of Baroda which helps people give directions to find us. It’s been here for quite some time now. We sell basic groceries, cleaning items, and sometimes snacks for the kids. In the mornings, there is a rush for milk and bread. The street gets quite narrow when people park their bikes outside to run in and grab something quickly. Our shelves are a bit old and made of wood but they hold everything we need. Sometimes the fan makes a lot of noise during the summer months. Lucknow summers are really hot so people come in looking for cold drinks more often then. We keep a small fridge in the corner for that. It’s a simple setup with bags of rice and flour stacked near the back wall. We don't really do anything special, just sell what people in the colony need for their houses. The neighborhood is friendly and we know most of the people by their names. If someone forgot their wallet, we usually just let them pay next time because we see them every day anyway. It’s just how things work around here. We try to keep the stock fresh but sometimes the suppliers come late and we have to tell people to wait until tomorrow for their specific brand of tea or oil.
