General Merchant Shop

General Merchant Shop is over at Shop No. 137 on Dr.R.K Tandon Road. We are very close to the Kaiser Bagh Bus Stop in Lucknow, so there is always a lot of noise from the buses and people rushing to catch their rides. It’s a high-traffic area, and our shop reflects that. We have a bit of everything crammed into the space. You’ll find snacks, toiletries, and small household items piled up on the shelves. The floor is old stone and shows the wear from many years of people walking in. I usually stand near the front because people are often in a hurry to buy something before their bus leaves. Lucknow can be very humid, and the shop stays open to the street, so we get all the sounds of the city right inside. I use a calculator for the bills and keep the cash in a heavy metal drawer under the counter. The lighting is just a few long tube lights that flicker occasionally. We have jars of candies right at the front for the kids who pass by. It’s not a quiet place at all, especially with the bus conductors shouting nearby. We have been at this location on Tandon Road for a long time. It’s just a basic business where we sell whatever people might need on their way home or to work. The shelves are a bit crowded, but I know where everything is kept. It’s just how things are at shop 137.
