Dinesh General Store

Dinesh General Store is located right on the main road over in the Quinton Road area of Lucknow. We are directly across from Nishat Hospital, which keeps us fairly occupied throughout the day and night. People coming from the hospital often drop in for small things they forgot to pack, or just a cold drink while they wait. We’ve stayed in this same spot at 2/2 Main Road for years now. It’s a busy part of town, so there is always noise from the traffic outside. Inside, we keep the shelves stocked with the usual stuff people need for their houses. We don’t spend much time worrying about how the shop looks as long as we can find what the customer is asking for. Sometimes things get a bit dusty because of the road construction, but we try to keep it clean. It’s mostly me and one other person working here. We don't have a big staff or anything like that. Just a counter and rows of goods. It’s a bit cramped when more than three people come in at once, but we manage. Living and working in Lucknow means meeting all sorts of people. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit, but the shop stays pretty much the same.
