Deep General Store

We are located at Deep General Store on Tulsi Das Marg in the Victoria Ganj part of Lucknow. Being right opposite the post office means we see a lot of people every day. They come to mail letters or do their banking and then stop by our shop on their way out. Khala Bazar is an old area, and it has a specific feel to it. The streets are often narrow and crowded, but that’s just how it is here. We keep the store stocked with the usual things people need for their homes. It is a small operation, really. Usually, it is just me or a family member behind the counter. We have had the same wooden counters for years, and they have seen a lot of use. People come in with their lists, and we pull things from the shelves for them. It is not like those big supermarkets where you walk around yourself. We prefer the old way of doing things. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when several people come in at once, all asking for different things. But we manage to get everyone sorted eventually. The post office across the street is a good landmark, so nobody really gets lost looking for us. We just try to keep things honest and keep the shelves full. It is a quiet life in a busy neighborhood. We stay open as long as there are people on the street. It’s just how we do things.
