Azad Nursery

Azad Nursery is located out in Bulakihar in the Malihabad area. If you come out this way you will see a lot of green because this part of the country is famous for its trees and plants. We spend almost all our time outdoors in the dirt. My hands are usually stained with soil and my boots are always muddy. We have rows and rows of saplings and bigger plants that we look after every single day. It is quiet out here compared to the city but there is always the sound of birds and the wind in the leaves. We have a small shed where we keep our tools and some seeds. During the monsoon the ground gets very soft and we have to be careful where we walk. In the summer the sun is very strong so we try to do the heavy digging early in the morning. We don't have a fancy office or a computer system that works all the time. Most of our notes are written in a small diary that stays on the workbench. People come from all over to see what we are growing. We just like being outside and seeing things grow from a tiny seed into something big. It is a slow kind of life but it is honest work. We have lived in Malihabad for a long time and the nursery is just part of who we are now.
