Aishwarya Bu.

My shop, Aishwarya Bu., is situated at 1-Tilak Nagar on Aishbagh Road. We are right by the railway crossing here in Lucknow. If the gates are down, you can see our sign while you wait for the train to pass. It is a noisy spot with all the traffic and the whistles from the engines, but you get used to it after a few days. I’ve been working out of this small space for a few years now. It isn't a large establishment. It’s just me and a bit of equipment. I do what I can to make sure people look presentable when they leave. I deal with all sorts of people who are passing through Aishbagh. Some are in a big hurry because they have a train to catch or work to get to. Others have more time to kill while they wait for the crossing to open. I keep a few plastic chairs for people to sit on. The floor is concrete and the walls have a few old calendars on them. It is an honest place. I don't offer fancy packages or anything like that. You come in, you tell me what you need, and I do it. I think people like that it’s straightforward. Dealing with the railway noise is just part of the job. It’s a busy life here in Lucknow, and I’m just trying to do my part for the people in Tilak Nagar.
