Guru Nanak Inter College

Our school is located in Nanakmatta, which is a place many people know for its religious importance. Guru Nanak Inter College is right there in Udham Singh Nagar, zip code 262311. It is a large building with a lot of history in its walls. We have many students coming in from the surrounding villages every morning. The playground is quite big, and it gets very loud when the kids are out there playing during the afternoon break. The classrooms have high ceilings which helps when it gets hot, though in the winter it can feel a bit chilly inside. We have wooden benches that have names carved into them from years ago. It is a very traditional setup. There are no fancy computers in every room, just the teachers and their chalk. We have a small library where the books are a bit worn out, but the kids still read them. The walk to the college takes you past some local shops and the main road can be a bit chaotic with buses and rickshaws. We have been a part of this community for a long time. Most of the people living around here probably went to school here themselves or have a cousin who did. It is a simple, honest place where people go to get their education. We keep the gates open until the final bell rings and then the town gets quiet again.
