SGK Industries

SGK Industries is located at Plot No. 10 in T I E Ida, Balanagar. This is a real working-class area, and we fit right in with the other workshops on our street. The building is basically a large garage with high ceilings and a lot of metal shelving. We make different industrial parts, so there is usually a lot of banging and the sound of machines cutting through the air. It’s not the kind of place where you’d want to wear a nice suit. We’re usually covered in a bit of grease or dust by the end of the shift. Balanagar is a busy hub, and the traffic around Plot No. 10 can be a nightmare during the evening. We have a tiny office in the front where we keep the books and take calls, but most of the time we’re out on the floor. It’s a small crew of us, and we’ve been working together for a long time, so we don't need to say much to get the job done. We don't have a website or anything like that; we mostly just deal with people who know us or who are in the same trade. The tea guy comes around twice a day, and that’s usually when we take our only real breaks. It’s hard work and the days are long, but we’ve got a good routine down now and it keeps the lights on.
