We are located right near the Chandanagar bus stop, so there is always a crowd outside the door. If you stand by the Welcome Tent House, you can see our sign pretty clearly. Being in the Bhel area means we get a lot of workers and commuters coming in. Our shop, number 4-129/2, is usually full of the sound of buses pulling in and out. We sell new watches, but the servicing side is what keeps us really busy. There is always someone who dropped their watch while running for a bus. We have cases full of different models, from the cheap plastic ones for kids to some nicer ones for gifts. The workspace is in the back, where I keep all the oils and tiny tweezers. It can get a bit cluttered with all the repair jobs waiting for parts. I try to keep up, but some days the pile just grows. People often come in to wait for their bus and end up buying a new battery or a shiny new watch. We don’t have air conditioning, so the door stays open to catch a breeze. It’s a noisy spot but it’s good for business. I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I know most of the tricks for getting a stubborn movement to start ticking again. It’s just a simple shop by the road, making sure people don't miss their transport because their watch stopped. We like being part of the noise here.
