Shree Mahavir Rice Mills

Shree Mahavir Rice Mills is situated in Village- Meharn Khurd. It is a small and quiet place, but we try to keep the mill running at a steady pace. The village life is slow, but the mill itself is usually moving with some kind of activity. We have a few sheds for storage and the main area where the milling happens. There is not really much to see if you are not specifically looking for us. Meharn Khurd is a peaceful spot for the most part. We have been here for a good number of years now, just doing the same kind of work every single day. We start as soon as the sun comes up in the morning. The birds are usually chirping in the trees before the noise of the machines drowns everything else out. We do not have a website or any online presence at all. We just prefer to talk to people face to face when they come by. It involves a lot of manual labor. We end up carrying the heavy bags ourselves most of the time. The air inside the mill is always filled with that very specific smell of dry husks and grain. We do not really mind it though. It is just the smell of a day’s work. Sometimes the neighbors will stop by just to chat for a while. We take a break and sit on the sacks when there is a quiet moment.
