Hari Om Rice Industries

Our place is over at 34 Model Town in Pehowa. Rajesh Singla is usually around here making sure things are moving as they should. It is a rice mill, so you can expect it to be a bit loud and dusty most of the time. We get the raw paddy in, and the machines do the work of cleaning and husking it. It is hard work and the days are long, especially when the harvest comes in. We have lived and worked in India for a long time, and Pehowa is a good place for this kind of business. The building isn't brand new, but it holds up well against the weather. We spend a lot of time checking the quality of the grains by hand, just feeling them to make sure they are dry enough. There are heaps of bags stacked up in the corners waiting to be loaded onto trucks. We don’t use any of those big corporate slogans because we are just local people doing a job we know. Sometimes the machines need a bit of a kick to start, and the tea we drink is usually too sweet, but that is the way we like it. We have our regulars who come by to see Rajesh Singla or just to check on the prices. 136128 is a busy postal code and we are just one part of the noise here.
