Chaudhary Rice Mill

You can find Chaudhary Rice Mill at Shop No 3 in Kunwar Market. It is a bit different being in a market shop rather than a big standalone building, but we manage. Space is our biggest issue. We have to be very careful about how we store the bags so there is still room for people to walk. Since we are in Kunwar Market, we see a lot of foot traffic. People stop by just to ask a quick question or to see what we have. We don't have the massive industrial machines some of the big places have, but what we have works fine for us. It’s a lot of personal interaction here. I know most of the people who come in by their first names. We talk about their families and the local news while we weigh out their orders. The shop gets a bit cramped, especially when we have a new shipment coming in. We have to move things quickly to keep the entrance clear. It’s a simple setup with a wooden counter and some old scales. The light isn't great inside, so we usually keep the front shutters wide open to let the sun in. Sometimes the stray dogs from the market come in to sleep in the shade, and we don't mind much as long as they stay out of the way. It’s a busy little spot and it keeps us occupied from morning till night.
