Raison Cement Blocks Unit

Our yard is tucked away in Ward No. 3 in Village Raison. It’s right near the mineral water plant, so you can’t really miss it if you're coming through this part of Tehsil Kullu. It’s a quiet enough spot until the mixer starts up in the morning. We’ve got a small crew from the village working the shifts. The air here is nice and fresh, though the work is admittedly heavy on the back. We make cement blocks mostly. They sit out in long rows to dry under the mountain sun. Sometimes the trucks find the narrow roads around here a bit of a tight squeeze, but they always manage to get in. We don’t have much of a front desk or a secretary. If someone needs something, they usually just walk up to the gate and shout for one of us. It’s just how things go around here. We spend a lot of time checking the water levels for the curing process. Being right next to the water plant is handy in a way, at least as a landmark for people who aren't from around here. The winters get quite cold in Kullu, which changes how we have to handle the cement mix. We just adjust as the seasons go. It's not a complicated business. We wake up, start the machines, and stack what was made the day before. The piles grow and shrink depending on the week. It’s just us doing the daily grind in the village.
