Om Sai Minerals

Our spot is at 18/35 in Shanthi Nagar West, right on the Denkanikottai Main Road. It is a pretty lively area, mostly because we are sitting right across from the Raghavendra Theatre. When a big movie comes out, the whole street fills up with people and bikes, which makes things interesting for us at Om Sai Minerals. We work with different types of mineral materials, so the yard is usually full of piles of stuff that needs to be sorted or moved. It is hard, physical work and you can’t really do it without getting your clothes dirty. The dust is just part of the job when you are on the main road like this. We have a small office where we handle the bills and talk to the drivers, but most of the time we are out back checking on the loads. It is a practical business without any frills. We don't bother with fancy displays because minerals aren't really about looks. Most of our neighbors are used to the noise of the trucks coming in and out. Sometimes we sit outside on plastic chairs during a break and just watch the traffic go towards Denkanikottai. It is a simple life and we have been doing this for long enough that we don't think much about it. We just focus on getting the right loads to the right people without making any mistakes in the paperwork.
