Vandana Beauty Parlour & Saree Designer

Our shop is on Park Road in Vijayawada. It’s a bit of a mix here because we do beauty work but we also design sarees. It keeps us very busy, especially when there are festivals or weddings coming up. The 520001 area is a central part of town. We have a lot of fabric lying around in one corner and the beauty chairs in the other. It might look a bit messy to some, but we know exactly where everything is. Women come in to get their sarees draped or to talk about a new design they want for a blouse. Then they might decide to get their hair done or some mehendi. It’s a place where ladies can just sit and talk while we work. We’ve been on Park Road for years. We don't have a big corporate team, just a couple of us who know how to sew and how to do makeup. The sewing machines make a steady humming sound all day. We try to get the orders done on time, but sometimes a design takes longer than we thought. We don't use any fancy language to describe what we do. We just fix hair and make sarees look nice. It’s hard work, especially when the heat in Vijayawada gets bad. We just keep the fans going and keep working. People know we’ve been here for a long time, and that’s enough for us.
