Sri Jai Durga Biryani & Kuchidi Center

Our small food center is located at Door No 21-1-36/1 on Samba Murthy Road. We are right beside the Karthikeya Car Wash in the Bavajipet area of Vijayawada. We have been running this place for a while, mostly serving biryani and kuchidi to the local crowd. It is the kind of spot where you come in, eat your meal, and then head out. There isn't much room for sitting around for a long time. The kitchen stays very hot because we are constantly steaming rice and cooking meat. We start our work early in the morning to get all the ingredients prepped. The smell of the spices usually lets the neighbors know when we are ready to serve. It is a very simple shop. We get a lot of people coming over from the car wash next door when they get hungry during their shift. Vijayawada is a busy town, and folks here seem to like their food spicy and served fast. We do not use any fancy plates or decorations. We mostly use metal plates or pack things up in parcels for people to take home. We try to keep the prices at a level where workers can afford to eat here every day. It is just me and a few helpers doing everything. We wash the dishes, do the cooking, and sweep up the floor ourselves. Sometimes we run out of food early if it is a busy day.
