Beijing Bites

Working in a mall like PVP Square is a different kind of experience. Beijing Bites is tucked away on the third floor in the food court area. Every morning starts with the sound of the mall opening up and the escalators starting to run. MG Road in Vijayawada is always packed with cars, so by the time we get to work, the energy is already high. In the food court, it’s all about the lunch and dinner rushes. We spend a lot of time behind the counter, taking orders and making sure the kitchen is keeping up with the pace. It gets pretty noisy with all the other stalls around and the music from the mall speakers. Sometimes it’s a bit chaotic when the weekend crowd hits and all the tables are full. We don't have our own private space, just our section of the floor. It’s a lot of standing and moving fast. The staff are used to the bright mall lights and the constant stream of shoppers. We don't put on any airs here; we just cook and hand over the food. It’s a practical way to run a business. We see a lot of kids and families who are taking a break from shopping. There isn't much time for fancy talk when there’s a line of people waiting. We just focus on the next order and keeping our small corner of the third floor running smoothly for everyone.
