Ratna Bricks

Our yard is located at 304 in the Vijayawada Urban area, specifically in the Krishna district. It is a busy place because there is always some kind of construction going on nearby. The heat in Vijayawada can be quite something, especially in the middle of the day. We have a small office that is basically just a desk and a few chairs where we keep the logbooks. Most of our time is spent outside anyway. We have large stacks of bricks that we try to keep in neat rows, but they often get messy when we are in a hurry to load a truck. The dust is everywhere, on our clothes and even in our tea. We have been here for years, so the regulars know exactly where to turn off the main road to find us. We don't use any fancy technology to track our bricks; we just count them by hand and write it down. It is a very manual process. Sometimes we run out of stock and have to wait for the next batch to be ready. We don't promise anything we can't do. If the bricks are there, you can buy them. If not, you have to wait. That is just how it works here. We are just a local operation trying to keep up with the daily chores of running a brick yard in a busy urban setting. It keeps us on our feet.
