Jindal Stainless

Way out in Vijayawada, we have this Jindal Stainless office at Door No 6-113 in Chakali Anjayya Bazar. Being in Enikepadu means we are right in the middle of a very busy rural market area. It is loud and there is always something going on outside. The bazaar is full of energy. The heat here in Andhra Pradesh is something else, so we have the fans going at full speed all day long. The building is an older style with high ceilings which helps a bit with the air. We have some local calendars on the wall with pictures of temples. The floor is tiled and we have to sweep it a lot because of all the dust from the bazaar. Most of our visitors are local guys who work in construction or trade. They usually want to sit and have a glass of water before we start talking about steel. It’s a slower pace of conversation here compared to the big cities. We keep our records in big plastic bins so they don't get damp during the rainy season. The phone lines can be a bit patchy sometimes, so we do a lot of walking around to get a better signal. It is a gritty, real place to work. We don't have any fancy carpets or air conditioning that works perfectly. It’s just a shop-front style office in a busy market, and that’s fine for us.
