Vintage Vogue

You can find us at 2/1 on the Bypass Road in Thamarassery. The name sounds a bit fancy, but the shop itself is actually quite simple. I spend a lot of time sorting through different fabrics and clothes. It’s not like those big malls you see in the city. Here, things are a bit more personal. I know where every single item is kept, even if the racks look a bit crowded to anyone else. The bypass road gets very busy, and sometimes the noise makes it hard to talk to customers, but we manage. I like the light that comes in through the front window in the morning. It makes the clothes look a bit different. People from around Thamarassery come in looking for something specific, and I try to find it for them in the stacks. It’s a lot of folding and unfolding every day. I don’t really use a computer for much; I just keep track of things in a notebook I have behind the counter. Sometimes friends stop by just to hang out for a bit. It’s a small business, and I do most things myself. The shop has a certain smell, like new fabric and maybe a bit of dust from the road outside. I’ve been here for a bit now, and I’ve seen the area change quite a bit. It’s just a local spot where we deal with clothes. That’s Vintage Vogue for you.
