Shah Traders

We are located on Beach Road in Calicut, with our mail going to P.O. Box-1117. Being near the coast is nice because we get a bit of a breeze, though the salt air isn't great for the metal around the shop. We’ve been trading here for quite a while. Calicut has a long history of trade, and we feel like a small part of that tradition. The office is usually a bit sandy because people walk in from the street, and we’re so close to the water. We deal in various goods, mostly just acting as the middleman for different local supplies. It’s a lot of phone calls and ledger entries. We don't have a big fancy staff, just a few of us who have been working together for years. We know how each other works, so we don't have to talk much to get things done. In the afternoons, when it gets really hot, things slow down a bit and we might take a slightly longer break. The view of the road is always interesting with all the tourists and locals heading toward the beach. We aren't trying to expand into some giant empire. We like our size and we like being here on Beach Road. It’s a steady life. We open up, see who comes in, and handle whatever the day throws at us. It’s been working for us so far, so we just keep going.
