Shantihari Enterprise

We are tucked away at Lakshmi Villa on Joseph Road here in Calicut. It’s a quiet spot most of the time, though the humidity gets a bit much in the afternoons. Shantihari Enterprise has been running from this building in Bellayil for a while now. When you come up to 4/557, you’ll see the old gate that sometimes sticks a little when it rains. The neighborhood is mostly families and a few other small offices. We spend most of our mornings sorting through things and making sure everything is where it should be. It’s not a fancy place, just a regular office with some desks and a lot of paper. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a hard time finding the exact turn off Joseph Road because the signs aren't great. We end up standing outside to wave them down. The guys in the back are usually busy with the boxes. It’s just us here, working through the day. We take our tea breaks around four when the sun starts to go down a bit. Kozhikode has its own pace, and we just follow that. Nothing too complicated happens here. We just try to get the work done before it gets too dark. The fans in the main room hum all day long. It's a bit of a climb up the stairs, but you get used to it after the first week. We’ve been in this part of town long enough that the local shopkeepers know us by name now, and we usually stop to chat.
