Machine Link

Machine Link is based in the Al-Ameen Building in the Palayam area of Calicut. Since we are so near the railway station, the sound of the engines and the horns is something we hear all day long. We deal with spare parts and machinery links for different types of equipment. Our shop is quite packed with boxes and metal components everywhere you look. It’s a bit dark inside because the building is old and the windows are quite small, but we have plenty of lights to see what we are doing. We’ve been in Calicut for quite a few years now. Most of our customers are mechanics or small factory owners from the local area. They know they can find us here most days of the week. We aren't big on marketing or fancy displays in the window. We just put the parts on the shelves and wait for someone to need them for a repair. Sometimes we have to order specific things in, and that can take a few days to arrive. My partner and I handle everything from the cleaning to the accounts. It’s a lot of work, but we enjoy being our own bosses and running things our way. Palayam is a busy part of town, so there’s never a dull moment outside. We usually have a bit of a rush in the afternoons before the evening trains leave the station. We just try to stay organized.
