Deepa P

Deepa P operates out of Deepa Rani Nivas in Govindapuram, which is a nice part of Calicut in Kerala. The business is run from a house, so it doesn't feel like a cold office at all. When you come by, you are usually greeted by the sound of the birds in the trees nearby. We have set up a work area in one of the front rooms. It is filled with ledgers and some old electronics that we still use every day. Calicut is a place where people value personal connections, and that is how we run things here. We don't have a big team or a human resources department. It is just Deepa and a couple of others keeping things moving. We do our own cleaning and we make our own tea in the small kitchen. It is a very humble way of doing business, but it works for us. The monsoon season can be a bit of a challenge because the rain is so heavy, but we just hunker down and keep working. We don't have any big slogans or promises. We just tell people what we can do and then we do it. Govindapuram is a quiet residential area, so we try not to make too much noise or disturb the neighbors. Most people around here know us by name and stop by for a chat even if they don't have any business to discuss. It’s a nice way to live.
