Spizes Mart

Spizes Mart is right on Market Road in Changanacherry. We are at Plot No. 770, which is very easy to find because the bus stop is just a few steps away from our front door. It gets quite crowded and noisy around here with all the commuters and the buses honking, but we like the energy. Inside the shop, things are a bit more organized, though it can get cramped when a lot of people come in at once to buy their groceries. We stock all sorts of things that people need for their kitchens, mostly spices, as the name says. We spend a lot of time weighing out small packets and chatting with the locals who stop by after getting off the bus from work. It's a busy little corner. Sometimes the shelves get a bit messy during the rush, but we try to keep up when we have a free minute. We've been here for a while, so we know most of our regular customers by name and what they usually buy. It’s not a huge supermarket, just a local shop where you can get what you need without a lot of trouble. The smell of the ground turmeric and pepper stays on your clothes all day. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for the first bus to arrive. It’s a good spot to be in, right in the middle of everything. We don't do much advertising; people just know where we are. It’s a simple shop.
