Pio Food Products

Down here in Vazhakulam, things move a bit slower than in the big cities. We are located over in Kavana, just a short way from the main post office area. Most of the people working here live close by, so they just walk or take a cycle in every morning. Our building isn't much to look at from the outside, but it stays busy once the machines get started. There is always a smell of whatever we are making that day hanging in the air. Sometimes it’s sweet and other times it’s a bit more sharp. We spend a lot of our time checking the seals on the bags and making sure the crates are stacked right so they don't fall over. The weather gets really humid here, especially during the monsoon, and the roof makes a lot of noise when the rain hits it. We have a small yard out back where we keep some of the supplies. It’s a lot of manual work, moving things from one side of the room to the other. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. Usually, it's just a few of us sitting around a wooden table at lunch sharing whatever we brought from home. Pio Food Products is just a local place doing its thing. We know the people in the village and they know us. That’s enough to keep us going. It is a humble setup but we get the orders out on time.
