Mughal Foods & Spices

We run things out of Olicapara House in Mundakayam. It’s not a factory, just a place where we manage everything. The air here is a bit different than the city, which is nice. We deal with a lot of local spices that come through this region. Most days, we are checking the quality of what comes in. If a bag looks damp, we have to sort it out immediately. My kids sometimes help with the labeling when they aren't at school. It’s a family thing, really. We don't have a big sign out front or anything. People just know where the house is. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to different people about prices and timing. Sometimes the rain here is so heavy we can't get anything moved for a day or two. That’s just part of living in this part of the country. We keep it simple. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to make sure the spices we handle are actually good. It's a lot of manual work, checking things by hand and making sure the seals are tight. It keeps us busy from morning till evening. It’s just how we live and work here in the post office area of Mundakayam. There is always another shipment to check.
