You can find J.K. Mehta & Sons at the Manorama Junction. We are on the first floor of the Ampuram Buildings. It’s an old place and we’ve been using P.B. No. 103 for our mail for as long as I can remember. The stairs are made of stone and they've worn down a bit over the decades. It’s a family business, so there's always a lot of talk about things that aren't related to work. We handle various accounts and orders throughout the day. The office has big windows that look out onto the junction, so we see all the traffic and the people waiting for the bus. It gets noisy, but we don't mind it much. We have these old wooden desks that have been in the family for ages. We don't use any fancy software for everything; a lot of our notes are still written in ledgers. It feels more real that way. Sometimes we have tea brought in from the shop across the street. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed. We aren't in a hurry to grow into some huge corporation. We just want to keep things running the way our father did. It’s a bit slow-paced compared to the modern offices you see nowadays, but we prefer it this way. It's just how we do things here at the junction. We focus on our daily work and take things as they come.
