Amana Spices

We are located at number 63 in Erattupetta. It’s a quiet enough place compared to the bigger cities, but we stay pretty busy with the spices. The air here always has a certain scent to it, especially when the weather is humid. We don't have a big fancy storefront with bright lights. It’s just a plain building where we do our work every day. Mostly, it’s about moving sacks and making sure everything is stored properly so nothing spoils. We know the local farmers around here and they know us. It’s a small community where everyone talks to everyone else. We don’t spend money on fancy brochures or advertisements because word of mouth works just fine in a place like this. Sometimes the rain gets quite heavy and we have to make sure the roof isn't leaking, but otherwise, it’s a steady rhythm. The office area is just a small corner with a table and some ledgers. We still write a lot of things down by hand because it’s just easier that way for us. It might seem a bit old-fashioned to some people, but it works. We’ve been doing this for years and we don’t see much reason to change how we operate. We just take it one day at a time and keep the business moving forward. It’s a lot of physical labor but it keeps us healthy and connected to the town and the people who live here.
