Amal Photography is right in the heart of the Changanacherry Market. If you know the market, you know it is always full of life and a bit of chaos, which we actually quite enjoy. There are always people carrying sacks of goods, trucks loading up, and the smell of various things being sold all around us. Being in the market means we are right in the thick of the local community. It is a busy place, and there is always something to look at out the door. We have our little setup here where we handle all our photography work. It is not a quiet office by any means, but it feels real. Changanacherry is a place with a lot of history, and the market is like the soul of it. We have been here long enough to know most of the other shop owners nearby. Our space is filled with our equipment and prints, and it is where we spend the bulk of our time every single day. We don't really worry about having a fancy storefront because people in the market care more about the work than the décor. It is a working-class area, and we fit right in with that. We just open up in the morning and stay until the market starts to quiet down in the evening. There is always a lot of dust from the street, but that is just part of being in the market.
