V.K Traders

We are located in the same Vijay Market area near the Ghantaghar in Kota. Unlike the retail shops, we mostly deal with larger quantities of things. It’s more of a trading spot than a fancy store. You’ll see a lot of gunny bags and heavy boxes stacked up in the corner. The floor is just plain concrete because we move a lot of heavy stuff around. It gets very hot in Kota, especially in this part of the city where the buildings are so packed together. We don't really have a display window because we aren't trying to attract people walking by. Our customers are usually other shopkeepers or people who need things in bulk. I spend a lot of my time on the phone or checking the stock against my paper lists. It’s a bit of a messy place, with papers scattered on the desk and bits of string everywhere from the packaging. I’ve been in the trade for a while now, and I know most of the suppliers by their voice. We don't use any computers for the inventory; it’s all kept in these thick red registers. Sometimes the market gets so crowded that the delivery trucks can't even get to the door. We just have to wait it out. It’s a noisy, busy way to spend the day, but it keeps us occupied. There isn't any fancy branding here, just V.K Traders written on a board.
