Vikas Metals

Vikas Metals is located at 7 New Motor Market, and it is pretty much what you would expect from a metal shop in this part of town. We handle a lot of different kinds of metal, from heavy sheets to smaller rods and scraps. The air here usually smells like iron and old grease. We do not have a big team, just a few of us who know how to move the heavy stuff without hurting our backs. The morning usually starts with us dragging the heavier pieces out so there is room to walk inside. Our neighbors in the motor market are always dropping by to borrow a tool or just to see what is new in the scrap pile. It is a noisy neighborhood, with people hammering and engines revving all day long. We keep our notes on small scraps of paper that somehow never get lost, even with all the clutter. The walls are mostly bare, except for a calendar that is a few months out of date. We do not spend money on making the place look pretty because that is not what people come here for. They come because they need metal cut or weighed, and we do that until the sun goes down. It is a straightforward kind of life. Some days are slow and we just sit on the stools talking, while other days we do not even have time to eat our lunch. That is just how it goes here.
