Steel Craft

The workshop for Steel Craft is out in the industrial area, specifically at G-60. It’s a large shed-like structure where most of the work happens. Being in an industrial zone means there is always noise from the nearby units. We spend most of the day cutting and shaping steel. There is a lot of scrap metal piled up in the back that we clear out every few weeks. The floor is stained with oil and marks from moving heavy machinery around. We have a small crew here. Most of them have been with us for years and know exactly what to do without being told. It’s not the cleanest place because of all the grinding and welding dust. We usually have a pot of tea going in the corner for breaks. People come to us with drawings on scraps of paper, and we try to make sense of them to get the pieces right. The lighting isn't the best, but we have some big lamps for the detailed work. It’s a practical space meant for hard work, not for showing off to anyone. The gate at G-60 sticks a little when it rains, so we have to give it a good push. We handle basic steel jobs for locals and some of the bigger businesses nearby. It stays busy enough to keep us on our feet all day long. We just focus on the task in front of us.
