Pratap Iti

We are tucked away in Rampura Bazar, right in the middle of all the noise and activity. Pratap Iti has been around for some time, focusing on teaching practical skills to the younger crowd who want to get their hands dirty. It’s not a quiet place, as there’s usually the sound of tools or students talking about their workshops. We spend a lot of our time looking over machines and making sure the equipment is in decent shape for the next class. Some days the fans don't work or we run out of chalk, but we manage. The bazaar outside is always crowded, so getting in and out in the mornings is a bit of a chore. We aren't trying to be some high-tech university; we just provide a place where people can learn a trade and hopefully find some steady work afterward. You’ll see students hanging around the entrance during breaks, probably grabbing a snack from the nearby stalls. The building is old, and it has that specific smell of metal and old paper. We keep the registers updated and try to stay on top of the paperwork, which is probably the most boring part of the job. Most of us here have lived in this area our whole lives. We know the local shops and the people who walk by every day. It's a small community effort, really, just trying to pass on some useful knowledge to anyone willing to learn.
